What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a specialized form of manual therapy that focuses on the assessment, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It employs a range of techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and stretching, to alleviate muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote overall physical well-being.
The practice is grounded in a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, allowing practitioners to target specific areas of discomfort. Myotherapy is effective for treating a variety of conditions, including acute and chronic pain, postural dysfunction, pre and post natal pain and conditions as well as general aches and pains. Myotherapy aims to restore normal function, reduce pain, and improve the quality of life for clients.
In a myotherapy session, the practitioner will conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify the source of pain or discomfort, followed by a tailored treatment plan that may include
Soft tissue techniques such as remedial massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and lymphatic massage
Cupping
Dry needling
Exercise recommendations, and advice on lifestyle modifications.

Lauryn Brockwell - B. HSc Clinical Myotherapy.
I am Lauryn, and I have been practicing for approximately 18 years now! I orginally started out as a remedial massage therapist whilst I was studying a Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical Myotherapy. I graduated in 2010 and have been practicing since. I have worked in clinic settings up until recently, but I realised there is a need for in home Myotherapy and Massage treatment. Over the years, I have loved treating our senior community and pre and post natal women - aside from easing peoples aches and pains, I love the rapport I build with my patients and their families (and pets!)
